	Introduction :	A Helfenbein started apprenticeship in 1983 and won the Champion Apprentice's title for the following 3 years. Then in 1985, he was granted a professional Jockey's licence. In the past 25 years, aside from riding at home in Germany, he has also ridden in Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Great Britain, France and Macau. Helfenbein has amassed over 1385 winners. His major wins include 11 group races and over 50 listed races. His minimum riding weight is 118 lbs.
