	Introduction :	At 22 years of age Micheal Hellyer is an experienced Apprentice. Riding in races since 2006, he has amassed close to 2500 rides and almost 150 winners. In the recently completed 2009/2010 Racing Season he won the “Ken Russell Queensland Apprentice Jockey of the Year Award”, “Champion Brisbane Metropolitan Apprentice Jockey Award”, “South East Queensland Metropolitan & Provincial Apprentice Jockey Premiership”, “Sunshine Coast & Ipswich Apprentice Jockey Premiership” and rode more winners than any other Apprentice Jockey in Queensland.
