Introduction : Paul Cheng Hong Yip
Paul Cheng was an actor in movies after he graduated from an “Actor Training Course” in the 1960s. He was given an opportunity to learn how to ride a horse during some riding scenes in some movies, and since then he fell in love with horse riding. Later he was granted an amateur jockey’s license from the then Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. However, in the 1970s when Hong Kong racing turned professional he quit riding. In 1981, he migrated to the United States. He rode again and as a jockey and an assistant trainer. In 1986 he was granted a trainer license in New York. In 1997 he came to Macau as an assistant trainer to Patrick Lee, and in October 1998 he was granted a trainer license in Macau.

Tony Chan Pak Hung
As a jockey Chan won the Hong Kong jockeys championship for the 1986/87 Racing Season, and one of his major victories was the QE II Cup with Forever Gold in 1986. He started his training career in Hong Kong in 1995, however, in 1997 he left the racing circle, not returning for eight years, when he applied for a trainer’s license in Macau. He commenced his training career in Macau in the 2006/07 Racing Season. For 2008/2009 season he combined with H.Y.Cheng forming a joint stable.
