Race Report

RACE-3 THE TOKYO RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (331)

1 Die Casting Alloy (K H Yu) -Was held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight was unable to establish clear running until near the 250 metres.
2 Master Of Mars (C L Cheung) -Brushed with 3 Fortune Flyer on jumping away. Near the 1350 metres was bumped by 7 Smart Captain which shifted out slightly when laying out. Was inclined to hang in rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Fortune Flyer (B Yamzon) -Brushed with 2 Master Of Mars on jumping away. Near the 1400 metres had to be steadied and was taken wider on the track by 4 River Pentium which shifted out when racing fiercely. A warning was placed on 4 River Pentium in relation to its racing manners.
4 River Pentium (W H Lao) -Was slow to begin and shortly after the start was inconvenienced by 8 Lucky Star which shifted out when hanging out. Near the 1400 metres when racing fiercely, shifted out and carried 3 Fortune Flyer wider on the track. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning would be placed on 4 River Pentium in relation to its racing manners. Rider reported that his instructions were to lead, however his mount was slow to begin and shortly after the start he had ridden his mount forward to take up a position, however 4 River Pentium commenced to race fiercely and proved difficult to settle. He added whilst his mount continued to race fiercely and to comply with his instructions he allowed 4 River Pentium to stride forward and attempted to take up the lead position near the 1000 metres, however as 7 Smart Captain had improved to his inside, he was unable to cross that runner and he then elected to maintain a position to the outside of 7 Smart Captain where 4 River Pentium continued to race fiercely. He further added that in his opinion the early efforts and his mount’s tendency to race fiercely contributed to the gelding weakening in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Dutch Shell (F Henrique) -Near the 250 metres when making a run, blundered after clipping the heels of 4 River Pentium which shifted out slightly under pressure when weakening. As the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken.
6 Fully Realised (M Tanaka) -Jumped away awkwardly. Raced ungenerously rounding the first turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed that 6 Fully Realised was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer S Chow was informed that 6 Fully Realised will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.
7 Smart Captain (S Nakano) -Near the 1350 metres shifted out when laying out and bumped 2 Master Of Mars.
8 Lucky Star (T Appie) -Shortly after the start hung out for a short distance. Approaching and passing the 700 metres raced fiercely and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 Die Casting Alloy.
